LTE: Kristen is the right choice for our School Committee

To the editor:

I am writing to express my sincere endorsement of Kristen Grieco Elworthy for the Lynnfield School Committee. Kristen is a Lynnfield native who along with her two sisters have all chosen to move back to town to raise their children in our incredible school system.

Kristen has a background in communications and owns her own PR firm. To say she is a respectful and eloquent communicator is an understatement. I am often envious as to how she can portray her point of view in such an articulate and calm manner. Her thoughtful and transparent communication skills coupled with her critical thinking will make her a phenomenal asset to our School Committee.

When Kristen was running for interim School Committee representative, she proactively chose to meet with every single person in our town’s administration — from our town administrator, to superintendent, to every sitting Select Board member, School Committee member, and all school building principals. For a working parent of three kids, this is no easy feat, but Kristen wanted to make sure if she were appointed to the School Committee that she was up to speed and able to hit the ground running.

Kristen has three kids in Lynnfield public schools, has attended and spoke at countless School Committee meetings, has served on the town’s Finance Committee and Schools Subcommittee, as well as numerous other volunteer roles in town.

Kristen has been holding community meet and greets to show her transparency and welcome any questions the town may have about her views and vision for our schools. If there is a question that Kristen can’t answer, she will immediately research the topic and respond with articles of comparative towns and how they have responded to similar situations.

Kristen has consistently demonstrated her dedication to our community’s educational system, serving as a passionate advocate for both students and teachers alike. Her unwavering commitment to improving the quality of education in Lynnfield is evident through her active involvement in various initiatives aimed at enhancing educational opportunities and fostering an environment conducive to learning and growth for all learners.

Furthermore, Kristen’s background in journalism and public relations equips her with the necessary skills to effectively engage with stakeholders and communicate ideas in a clear and concise manner. This proficiency will undoubtedly prove invaluable in her role as a liaison between the School Committee, administration, educators, parents, and students.

In conclusion, Kristen Elworthy possesses the qualities essential for effective leadership on the Lynnfield School Committee. Her experience, passion, and dedication make her the ideal candidate to advocate for the best interests of our students, teachers, and community as a whole. I urge my fellow Lynnfield residents to join me in supporting Kristen Elworthy for School Committee on April 9.
