Lynnfield Art Guild’s third annual Spring Arts Festival to be held on May 4

The Lynnfield Art Guild is delighted to announce that its Spring Arts Festival will commemorate its 60th anniversary and honor its’ founders and leaders who in 1964 had the foresight to create a vibrant association dedicated to the promotion of art in our community. This diamond anniversary year festival will offer exciting new opportunities for artistic sharing and expression. In addition to a judged arts show and sale of all original art in the Lynnfield Meeting House, this festival will feature a silent auction of works by past presidents, dozens of crafters and artisan vendors, a LAG table of donated art by its members with all proceeds to benefit the guild, hands-on activities for all ages and, as always, the chance to observe artists at work and  interact with other local organizations.

The full roster of festivities on Saturday, May 4 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Meeting House, 617 Main St., and on the Commons will include a special performance by the POMTastics, a Lynnfield-based senior cheer leading squad recently featured on Chronicle (1 p.m.) and a concert by the well-loved Swamptones Jazz and Swing Band (2 – 4 p.m.). Talented art students from Lynnfield High School will offer free face painting from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. and D.J. John Bohn will keep the crowd entertained and informed.

The food available will of course include LAG’s famous bake sale, which sells out every year. As always, LAG will hold a fabulous raffle of original art, goods, and local business gift certificates. The judges’ choice for ribbon winners and cash prizes for both adult and LHS student art will be announced at the start of the show. The guild is grateful to all its sponsors and volunteers who will make this anniversary celebration of local art so special and hopes you will save the date to share this community-wide event.
