LTE: Jim Dillon is the most qualified candidate for School Committee

To the editor:

As a major advocate for Lynnfield Public Schools for over 25 years, I wholeheartedly endorse Jim Dillon for a three-year seat on the Lynnfield School Committee. I began years ago volunteering at the schools by personally cabling the buildings to allow for connection to the internet. I continued to volunteer for many years and was subsequently employed as a member of the tech department. I continue to want what is best for Lynnfield Public Schools; Jim Dillon is the best candidate as well as the most qualified candidate to help Lynnfield Public Schools continue to be a top-notch school system.

A school committee without someone having school and education experience will be less effective. An educator with administrative experience, on any school committee, is the lynchpin to a well-run school system. As a principal and a teacher at Masconomet, Jim has both classroom and executive leadership experience. Coupled with his previous tenure on the Lynnfield School Committee, this makes him uniquely qualified. He has developed budgets, set policy, collaborated with different superintendents, dealt with staffing/hiring, and worked on contract negotiations. He knows what is critical to a successful school system. We are thankful that someone with his knowledge and commitment is willing to run and to effectively collaborate with all school stakeholders.

Like myself, Jim wants what’s best for Lynnfield Public Schools. He is tireless in his commitment to find solutions and strategies that give all students the education they deserve. He understands that teachers and staff are key to this success. He will work with his fellow School Committee members to support all aspects of the school and education process. He will use his tremendous experience to support the committee with the insight necessary for a well-rounded outcome.

Please support the Lynnfield Public Schools by voting for Jim Dillon on April 9, 2024.
