Library hosting trio of writers for author talks

The Peabody Institute Library, in partnership with the Tewksbury Public Library, is hosting authors Ali Hazelwood, Nikki Payne, and Denise Williams to discuss their latest romance novels in what it dubbed an “unforgettable” panel discussion to be followed by an audience question-and-answer session on Feb. 26 at 7 p.m.

Hazelwood is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of “Love, Theoretically” and “The Love Hypothesis,” as well as a writer of peer-reviewed articles about brain science, in which no one makes out and the ever after is not always happy. Originally from Italy, she lived in Germany and Japan before moving to the U.S. to pursue a PhD in neuroscience. When Hazelwood is not at work, she can be found running, eating cake pops, or watching sci-fi movies with her three feline overlords (and her slightly less feline husband). Her latest is “Bride,” a paranormal romance published on Feb.  6.

By day, Payne is a curious tech anthropologist asking the right questions to deliver better digital services. By night, she dreams of ways to subvert canon literature. Payne is a member of Smut U, a premium feminist writing collective, and a cat lady with no cats. Her latest is “Sex, Lies and Sensibility,” a contemporary diverse retelling of Jane Austen’s “Sense and Sensibility,” published on Feb. 13.

Williams wrote her first book in the second grade. “I Hate You” and its sequel, “I Still Hate You,” featured a tough, funny heroine, a quirky hero, witty banter, and a dragon. Minus the dragons, these are still the books she likes to write. After penning those early works, she finished second grade and eventually earned a PhD. Williams lives in Iowa and can usually be found reading, writing, or thinking about love stories. Her books have been listed as Indie Next picks, LibraryReads picks, and received starred reviews from Publishers Weekly and Library Journal. Her latest is “Technically Yours,” the story of a second-chance romance set in a STEM-industry workplace, published in December.

The event will be held on Zoom.
