LTE: A new library would put an additional tax burden on residents

To the editor:

Many residents attended the last town meeting when a new library was on the agenda. As a matter of fact, it was a filled auditorium and required additional rooms to hold the residents.

We voted down acquiring land at Reedy Meadow and building a new library. We fail to understand why this topic is coming up again and requesting a special town meeting. This project puts an additional tax burden on all our residents. The pros and cons of this project were debated at length at the last town meeting.

Most people all ages read online and for those who would prefer to read at the library or take out books, with a small amount of money we can get our present library up to code. We feel that is the fiscally responsible way to go!!

Respectfully,
