City seeks volunteers for MVP Core Team

The City of Peabody is looking to hire up to four community liaisons to serve as part-time representatives on its Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness 2.0 Core Team over the next 18 months.

The MVP 2.0 program is a grant program run by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EOEEA). The program works with communities throughout Massachusetts to identify climate vulnerabilities and invests in resilience efforts. The MVP 2.0 program will expand on the work the City has already completed to date as an MVP-certified community (2018) and will support Peabody with new methods, tools, and resources for building climate resilience with a focus on equity.

The MVP Core Team will focus on ways to make the City more resilient to climate change impacts such as flooding and extreme heat, including ways to support community needs for a stronger and healthier community day-to-day. Together, in partnership with City officials, the Core Team will lead conversations to understand community needs and to help develop and implement a project that will address those needs and support community resilience.

If you are interested in becoming an MVP 2.0 Peabody community liaison, please contact/email a letter of interest by Feb. 2 to Assistant Director of Planning Brendan Callahan at  (978) 538-5780 or brendan.callahan@peabody-ma.gov.

In the subject line, please reference “MVP 2.0 Community Liaison.”
