PMLP adds community relations coordinator

The Peabody Municipal Light Plant (PMLP) is pleased to announce the addition of Cynthia L. Lewis as the new community relations coordinator/grant writer to the team. She will serve under Director of Community Relations and Human Resources John Maihos. Lewis will act as a liaison between the PMLP, city officials, elected officials, PMLP customers, and the community.

She will also be responsible for state and federal grant applications and ensuring they are implemented effectively. Lewis will coordinate annual outreach opportunities and presentations within the community, ensuring that PMLP remains at the forefront of community engagement and awareness.

With an impressive background in communications, public policy, and government affairs, Lewis brings a wealth of expertise and experience to PMLP.

Lewis’ career is marked by significant achievements in legislative matters, enhancing community engagement, and developing impactful content for public affairs programs.

Prior to joining PMLP, Lewis served as program coordinator for the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, where her accomplishments included modernizing outdated systems and managing financial operations. At the Massachusetts State House, as director of intergovernmental relations and special projects, she secured substantial federal funding for key community projects and established vital educational partnerships. Her involvement on various legislative and community boards, such as the Merrimack River Beach Alliance and the New England Community Advisory Board, highlights her commitment to public service and community welfare.

Lewis will help PMLP improve community outreach and engagement and initiate programs to bolster community energy service programs. She will also play an important role in annual programs like the PMLP Science Fair and its annual Public Power Week.
