Student-athlete Morginn Kotchian competes on Eastern Connecticut basketball team

Eastern Connecticut State University’s men’s and women’s basketball teams recently began their winter seasons. The men’s team is made up of 18 players, including nine first-year players. The women’s team is made up of 16 players, including seven first-year players.

Among the student athletes is Morginn Kotchian of Peabody, #14, who plays guard for the women’s team. Kotchian is a first-year student who is majoring in business administration.

The men’s team is very young, as half of its roster is made up of first-year members of the program.

“Our goal is to get a little better every day,” head coach Bill Geitner said.

The women’s team also has a young roster.

“We are focused on the process and the journey, not the end results or the destination,” head coach Denise Bierly said. “Good things will come with time.”

The men’s team began its season at Farmingdale State College in Farmingdale, N.Y. on Nov. 8. To learn more about the men’s team, visit https://gowarriorathletics.com/sports/mens-basketball
