One goal was enough for Lynnfield to take care of business Monday evening. The Pioneers defended home turf thanks to a goal from Dillon Reilly.

Reilly’s goal was assisted by Rocco Scenna.

The weather may be getting cooler, but the Pioneers aren’t. Lynnfield stayed hot in a 5-0 win on Oct. 10 as Joel Anthony (2 goals, assist) and Dillon Reilly (goal, 2 assists) led the charge.

Earning the callup from junior varsity, freshman Ollie Morgan scored his first varsity goal.

“He was excited to be there and excited to get one. It was a good day for him,” said coach Brent Munroe.

The Pioneers (10-2-2) scored five minutes into the game when Bella Carroll put away a pinpoint cross from Clara Caulfield on Monday.

Unfortunately for Lynnfield, North Reading scored in the first minute of the second half to level things 1-1.

Lynnfield coach Mark Vermont was pleased with how his defense played.

“Our defense, overall, played a really great game,” Vermont said.

Vermont praised the defensive work of Keely Briggs, Avery Haney, and Ariana Guarracino. Vermont also mentioned Ally Sykes and Kaylee Barrett as having strong games.
