Tea Time, Every Monday: 9:30 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Come by the library’s reading room for tea or coffee, to read the papers, and meet your neighbors. We’ll be providing hot water and tea, instant coffee, or cocoa for self-service beverages, and reading materials. You provide the company. Come down to the library, and make yourself at home.
Bringing your own reusable cups is encouraged. No registration is required.
The Last Tuesday Book Club: Tuesday, Oct.24, 6-7 p.m.
The Last Tuesday Book Club is the Lynnfield Library’s fiction book group! October’s book is Shrines of Gaiety by Kate Atkinson. Copies are available for pickup at the Library’s Circulation desk. No registration is required.
**Please note that October’s meeting will be held on Oct. 24, not the last Tuesday of the month, which is Halloween.

Story Time: Every Wednesday from 10-10:30 a.m.
Join Ms. Alex and Ms. Joan on Wednesdays to sing songs and listen to stories! This story time will be held outside on the Lynnfield Town Common if the weather is nice. You are welcome to bring a blanket or chair to sit on. If it is too cold or rainy, story time will be held inside the library. No registration is required.
Recommended for children ages 5 and under.

Curious about cuisine: Wednesday, Oct. 25, 3-4 p.m.
Everyone loves food – even if they don’t like cooking or baking it themselves. You don’t have to be an avid home chef to attend Curious About Cuisine, all are welcome to learn a bit more about different cuisines and of course get a chance to taste them, too!
Join us as Lynnfield resident Cheryl WhiteDear presents: Sundays with the Family. Cheryl tells us, “In my family, Sunday is a day when a huge meal is prepared and the entire family puts everything aside to sit down and enjoy family time. It’s all about the food! Food make the time spent together even more meaningful so there’s plenty of good food, cross talk and harmony. All other issues are set aside as we connect with and love on each other.” All are welcome. Registration is requested for headcount.

Rise Up! Indigenous Music in North America: Wednesday, Oct. 25, 6:30-8 p.m.
Join us as Craig Harris, music historian, percussionist, radio host, and author presents Rise Up! Indigenous Music in North America. More than powwow drums and wooden flutes, Indigenous music intersects with rock, blues, jazz, folk music, reggae, hip-hop, classical music, and more.
Playing drums/percussion since his teens, Harris has played with C.J. Chenier, Greg Brown, Jonathan Edwards, Rod MacDonald, Melanie, Mustard’s Retreat, Merl Saunders, Rick Danko (The Band), and Los Texmaniacs. After teaching in public/charter schools in Boston, Somerville, Chelsea, and Springfield for 28 years, Harris launched Drum Away the Blues in 2009. Registration is requested for headcount.

Keeping up with new technology can be spooky, but we want to help! Come by the library on Oct. 31 from 2:30-3:30 p.m. for technology drop-in help.
Some things we can help you with:

- Computer and/or smartphone basics
- Using the library catalog or library databases
- Social media basics
Some things we will not be able to help you with:
- Broken phones, computers, or devices
- Computer viruses
- Items that cannot be physically brought to the library

Halloween Kid’s Button Making Bonanza: Tuesday, Oct. 31, 3-4 p.m.
Show off your style by making some buttons! Draw anything you’d like and turn your design into a button using a button maker. We’ll also have some special spooky designs to celebrate Halloween!
Our button maker will be set up until 4 p.m., so stop by anytime from 3p.m. to 4 p.m. to make a button.

Bill Sano Presents Whitney, Dionne, Aretha, and Ella: Four Grand Divas of American Music: Nov. 2,9,16, 22, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Whitney Houston (1963-2012), daughter of a gospel singer, cousin of Dionne Warwick, sold over 200 million records in her short career. Forever facing addiction and personal problems her vocal impact on the world will never be forgotten.
Dionne Warwick (born 1940) is a first cousin to Whitney Houston. She will always be remembered for her interpretation of songs by Burt Bacharach and Hal David: “That’s What Friends are For” and “Do you know the way to San Jose”.
Aretha Franklin (1942-2018), Godmother to Whitney Houston, was born In Memphis, the daughter of a Baptist minister. She would forever be remembered as “The Queen of Soul.”
Ella Fitzgerald (1917-1996), dubbed “The First Lady of Song,” grew up in Harlem under very difficult circumstances. Credited with her ability at scat singing, Mel Tormé pointed out that Ella didn’t invent scat singing, she just perfected it!
Yoga: Every Thursday at noon
Join us for a 60-minute yoga flow! Instructor Tammy Syrigos Irrera will lead us through yoga poses over Zoom. Register with a valid email to receive the link to join the class. You will receive an email with login information a half hour before the class begins.
