Wednesday, Dec. 7

Coloring Bookmarks for Teens

The library is calling teens ages 11-18 to take a break and make a personalized bookmark in the Young Adult from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Read to a Dog

Mitzi, a trained therapy dog, will be visiting the Lynnfield Library hoping to hear some great stories from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the Children’s Room.

Children may sign up for a 10-minute session and choose a book or selection from a book to read to her. Mitzi is a patient listener, so reading to her is good practice for readers who are still struggling a bit as well as pros. Program geared towards children in grades K-4. Space is limited to 6 children. When registering, please select an available time.  Please arrive early if you need time to pick out a book. We may not be able to accept children who are late to their appointment time. If registration is full, please email lfdyouth@noblenet.org to join the waitlist.

Friday, Dec. 9

Paint your own Winter Cookie with Mindy Paper

Join Mindy Paper to paint your own winter-themed cookies. Each participant will get to paint a large cookie using edible watercolors to create a unique and tasty masterpiece. Recommended for children ages 4-10, the program will be from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the Children’s Room. Registration is required as supplies are limited.

Saturday, Dec. 10

Pipe Cleaner Snowflakes

Let it snow with your own pipe cleaner snowflake. Participants can choose from a variety of bead colors and styles and string them onto a pipe cleaner to create a fun, unique snowflake. These are perfect for decorating or to give as a gift. Recommended for children ages 6-10, this event will be held in the Children’s Room from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. 

Monday, Dec. 12

Make a stuffed animal with Teddy Town

Create your own stuffed animal with Teddy Town. Choose an animal and fill it with the stuffing machine. Then, choose the perfect outfit for your new friend. Once you’re done, you can take your new stuffed animal home to keep. Recommended for children ages 3-10, the event will be held in the Children’s Room from 4-5 p.m. Registration is required to reserve a spot, as space and materials are limited

Tuesday, Dec.. 13

Adults Paint-by-Number

This adults-only event will be held in the Mezzanine from 6-7:30 p.m. Paint by numbers is a great way to paint fun, detailed scenes without need for instruction or special skills. The library will provide canvases, brushes, and paints. Registration is required because kits are limited.  This class is funded by the Friends of the Lynnfield Library.

Saturday, Dec. 17

Pop-up Art School: Evergreen trees with real lights

Pop-up Art School returns to the Lynnfield Public Library with a special wintry workshop. This is not your typical canvas painting program! In this class, you will paint trees, and then holes will be poked in the back of the canvas and fairy lights inserted. They’ll be proud to hang this festive painting in their own home, or giveaway as a gift. Fairy lights are included. Batteries are not included. This event is for adults and older teens. It will be held in the Mezzanine from 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Fuzzy Winter Poster Fun

Stay cozy inside and create your own snowy masterpiece using a variety of winter-themed velvet art. This event will be held in the Children’s Room from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. and is recommended for children ages 6-10.
