Lynnfield Art Guild hosts Spring Arts Festival

The Lynnfield Art Guild (LAG) is delighted to announce that its Spring Arts Festival will offer a Judged Arts Show and Sale and an opportunity for the public to create art, observe artists at work and interact with local artisans and organizations. Join the festivities on Saturday, May 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Meeting House, 617 Main St., and on the Common. There will be vendor and artisan tables, creative activities including free face painting for kids, live music and dance, a bake sale, raffles, and prizes. The Guild is proud to again host a booth with Tiny Art and larger donated works. Local organizations and Town committees with booths include Centre Congregational Church, Girl Scouts Troop 8259, Friends of the Library, Library Foundation, Lynnfield for Love, Lynnfield Rail Trail, Lynnfield Rotary, Lynnfield Tree Committee, the Lynnfield Veterans/American Legion and the Village Home and Garden Club.

Guild members Yvonne Blacker, Steve Grieco, and Anne Mullen will demonstrate their art on the Common. Sixteen artisan tables on the Common include Kola Tree, Kish Pots, April Rose Jewelry, Grateful Tastes, Kingdom of Ceramics, Fascinating Pearls, Create a Dream with Busy Fingers, Brewster Road, EJW Designs, Blue Aster Photography, Helen Coukos, Sasquatch Woodworks, Judy Moriarty, Nicole Werth Designs, Natalia Zvontsova, and Judith Armistead. LAG members exhibiting in booths on the Common include Kendall Inglese Lark Studio, Lisa Hertel Cogitation Zone, Heidi Reynolds Re-Create Studio, Rick Obey Roventeur, and Dan Abenaim Paintings.

In the Meeting House over a hundred pieces of original art and photography by Guild Artists will be for sale along with works by Lynnfield High School art students will be held alongside and artists. At the start of the show there will be an announcement of both the ribbon winners chosen by the judges: painter Terry Christopher; photographer Frank McDonough and artwork creator Annette Sykes. Several cash prizes will be awarded by the Savings Bank. Also inside the Meeting House will be the Guild’s famous bake sale of individually wrapped goods, a fabulous raffle and a silent auction. The raffle includes a Lottery Tree, restaurant gift cards, original art and gift baskets and the silent auction is for two former LAG presidents’ paintings Where Surf Meets Rock (Michael B. Karas) and Glass Jars and Baskets (Helen Malcolm).

Outside on the Common, D.J. John Bohn will entertain the attendees until the 1 p.m. performance of the local dance and cheerleading senior group the POMtastics followed by a two set 2 p.m. return concert by jazz and swing band The Swamptones. The Guild is grateful for its many supporters, sponsors and volunteers who are making the Arts Festival possible.
