LYNNFIELD – Representatives from the Toll Brothers, the construction company building a proposed 66-unit senior housing development at 1301Main St., recently presented to the Planning Board their ideas on how to give character to the property.
Scott Cameron, who spoke on behalf of Toll Brothers, said that the company plans on placing more than 600 trees of different species throughout the property, hopefully preventing all of them from being destroyed if there are environmental threats to one species. The Toll Brothers also plan on installing LED streetlights that are dark-sky compliant. Cameron also said that the surroundings will become a meadow.
Cameron also stated that there is a plan in place so that the property is compliant with the Lynnfield Fire Department’s regulations. Toll Brothers also made plans to reduce the construction’s impact on the natural environment such as less reliance on manicured lawn, and having a stormwater pollution prevention plan implemented.
The Planning Board has hired a company, TEC, Inc., to peer-review the plans Toll Brothers has presented, and present alternatives to any issues they may see. Recently, TEC, Inc. has proposed alternatives, to mitigate the construction’s effects on wetlands.
Cameron reiterated in the meeting that the property will be privately owned and maintained, and won’t require public services, as the condominium association will pay for services.
