We are writing to express our enthusiastic support for Kristen Elworthy as a candidate for the Lynnfield School Committee. As our community faces the complex and ever-evolving landscape of educational priorities and budgetary challenges, we believe that Kristen possesses the dedication and qualities needed to excel in this role.
Kristen’s commitment to rationality, logic, and collaboration sets her apart as a candidate who will not only speak her mind but also work tirelessly to find common ground and build consensus. Her willingness to listen, advocate, communicate, and foster collaboration makes her an invaluable asset to our community.
In the face of challenging budgetary times for both the district and the town, Kristen’s advocacy for the needs of our schools to the Finance Committee and the Select Board, as well as to the voters, is vital. We trust Kristen to prioritize proper funding for our schools to ensure the success of our students.
Moreover, Kristen understands the importance of continuity of leadership and is prepared to ask the tough questions about what lies ahead for our district. She is committed to engaging in uncomfortable conversations for the betterment of our schools and the community at large.
Kristen’s belief in fostering leadership, creativity, and trust among principals and school leaders demonstrates her understanding of the importance of including all stakeholders in the decision-making process. She recognizes the expertise of teachers and the necessity of ensuring they can focus on their primary responsibilities without being burdened with additional roles.
At the high-school level, Kristen is ready to prioritize the curriculum to ensure that our students remain competitive and prepared for success in higher education and beyond.
