It’s time to prepare for spring.
Denise Weaver and the Centre Congregational Church are getting ready to make Easter baskets for the families with children who are supported by La Collaborative in Chelsea, a community organization that focuses on a variety of issues facing the Chelsea Latinx community, including tenants’ rights, employment initiatives, and feeding and clothing those in need.
“Easter is right around the corner this year! Last year, we assembled over 900 baskets — we truly spread an abundance of joy and excitement to so many families,” Weaver wrote in a Facebook post. “We are asking for the following donations: medium size baskets (we will fill them), plastic eggs (already filled is even more helpful), chocolate bunnies, small toys, stuffed animals, coloring books, crayons, bubbles, and grass filler. An easy way to donate is by placing an order from our Amazon wish list (in the process of being created). Donations can be shipped or dropped off at 94 Essex St., Lynnfield, MA 01940.
