North Shore Bank donates $25,000 to Citizens Inn for third straight year

As part of its four-year commitment to bring comprehensive services in dignified spaces to better address the root causes of homelessness and hunger, North Shore Bank donated $25,000 to Citizens Inn’s Inn To Opportunity campaign last month, the third year in a row it has done so.

The campaign focuses on both capital improvements and the programs necessary to sustain the organization’s increased client base, as well as implement the depth of services that Citizens Inn provides.

Citizens Inn Executive Director Carolina Trujillo said the donation from the bank “underscores their unwavering commitment to supporting neighbors in need.”

“North Shore Bank stands as a community leader, making a tangible impact and difference,” she said in a statement.

North Shore Bank’s gift will enhance physical space within Inn Transition, a program that provides comprehensive case management to families in early recovery in a transitional sober housing environment. The bank’s contribution will also enable future programming for both parents and children in the program, including focus on children’s enrichment, parent-child relationship, early childhood development, complex trauma, and wellness.

The bank’s chief executive officer, Kevin Tierney, said it is “always enthusiastic about offering (its) support.”

“This contribution is an investment in the well-being of our fellow citizens,” Tierney said in the statement. “Recovery is about breaking the pattern of instability, and those suffering from substance-use disorders deserve a welcoming space to reestablish their self-sufficiency.”
