Lynnfield Country Store holds a grand opening

The Lynnfield Historical Society Annual Country Store Committee would like to thank members and friends of the Society who participated in the 62nd Annual Country Store (3rd annual virtual) and helped keep this treasured tradition alive.

The Country Store was initiated in 1962 as a fundraiser to support renovating and maintaining the iconic 1714 Lynnfield Meetinghouse. From 1960 to 2019, the Society proudly contributed over $1 million to this mission.

The tradition continued this year by offering traditional ham & and bean suppers, hand-cut cheese, wreaths, poinsettias, and mixed-green roping. All attending the event were treated to a tour and history of the 1667 Henfield House, the oldest house in Lynnfield.

Due to the success of this event, the Society is proud to make a $500 donation to Haven from Hunger. The Food Pantry at Haven from Hunger provided 1,100 unique households per month from Lynnfield, Peabody, and Salem with fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, dairy, and non-perishable goods last year.

They sourced over 1.4 million pounds from the Greater Boston Food Bank and rescued from local grocery stores and restaurants for disbursement in the pantry and Community Meals.
