Slate of new businesses coming to Northshore Mall

A trio of new businesses are set to join the Northshore Mall next year, marking the completion of the mall’s redevelopment, which began in 2017.

Gametime Lanes & Entertainment, Immersive Gamebox, and Big Chicken’s first Massachusetts location will all open at the mall in the near future, joining other recent additions like Arhaus, sweetgreen, and L.L. Bean.

Gametime Lanes & Entertainment, which already has a location in Amesbury, will feature 12 lanes of 10-pin bowling, two bars, and a full menu featuring pub-style food at the mall. The Peabody location will also feature a 6,000-square-foot arcade with video and virtual-reality games, as well as axe throwing. Private function rooms will also be available to be rented out.

Immersive Gamebox, a UK-based company, offers fully private, interactive digital rooms that feature projection mapping, touch screens, motion tracking, and surround sound while customers are guided through a 60-minute adventure.

“Players can freely move about the Gameboxes to solve problems, strategize, and engage with sought-after games,” the mall said in a statement.

Big Chicken is backed by NBA Hall of Famer and Los Angeles Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal, and offers chicken sandwiches and tenders, milkshakes, and other menu items that “tell the story of the athlete’s life and personality,” the statement said.

“The definition of a ‘typical’ shopping-mall tenant continues to evolve at Northshore Mall,” Lauren Dalis, the mall’s director of Marketing and Business Development, said. “We look forward to offering unique experiences to individuals from across the region when we welcome Big Chicken, Immersive Gamebox, and Gametime to the Northshore lineup of great retail, restaurants, and experiential activities.”
