It began nearly 60 years ago, when a group of volunteers transformed the Meeting House into a country store one December. It offered wreaths, Christmas decorations, freshly made baked goods, ham and bean dinners, blocks of cheese, a candy station, the infamous White Elephant table, and of course, a visit from Santa. The quintessential event became as anticipated as Christmas itself and continued every year until 2019. Realizing that residents needed something cheerful in their lives after so much tragedy and loss caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, a new group of volunteers reopened the doors in 2021 and continues to carry on the tradition.
