The YMCA of Metro North is partnering with the Northeast Chapter of the American Red Cross to host a blood drive at the Torigian Family YMCA.
The blood drive will take place on Sunday, April 2 from 8 a.m. – 1p.m. at 259 Lynnfield St. Prospective donors can sign up for 40 timeslots during each drive.
“We encourage everyone who is healthy to sign up and give blood,” said Cara Green, the executive director of the Torigian Family YMCA.
According to the Red Cross, every two seconds someone in the United States needs blood, and platelets and blood supplies are at historically low levels. The Red Cross is asking the Peabody community to volunteer to give blood to help them save lives.
