Tanners impress right out of the gates

It was a classic matchup of Saugus vs. Peabody in track and field Monday. That said, the Tanners boys and girls each cruised their way to easy victories.

The field events helped the Peabody boys defeat Saugus 130-1. Evan Bedard had a solid day, finishing first in the long jump and triple jump. Bedard jumped a 20’2 in the long jump and followed that up with a 39’2 in the triple jump. Alex Jackson threw a 50’3 in the shot put and a 134’2 in the discus.

The Lady Tanners showed out on Monday with a 112-17 victory behind some fast sprinters. Lindsey Wilson and Brianna Ewansiha placed first and second in the 110-meter race. Wilson ran an 18.4 and Ewansiha ran a 19.2. Savanna Vargas finished first in the 100 meters with a 12.5 time, while Marissa Simmons was right behind with a 13.4.
