Recycling Committee to hold a video contest in honor of Earth Day

In an effort to better educate Lynnfield residents around the topics of sustainability, the Lynnfield Recycling Committee is hosting an Earth Day Content Creator Competition open to Lynnfield Middle School and high school students.  Get your creative minds in high gear to create a short video regarding best practices for recycling and composting and possibly win an award.

The first place winner will receive a compost tumbler of a four-month subscription to Black Earth Composting. The second and third place winners receive honorable mention on the town’s website.

The project’s goal is to energize the youth of Lynnfield to take an active role in educating their families, friends and neighbors about the importance of recycling and composting best practices.

Content must be designed to provide accurate information regarding best practices by leveraging resources that are available to Lynnfield residents. Content must be educational and family friendly and should be approximately one to five minutes long and cover either Recycling Do’s or Don’ts or Composting Do’s or Don’ts (home and/or curbside services).

Videos must be submitted by the end of the day on Tuesday, April 30 to DPW Director John Tomasz at jtomasz@town.lynnfield.ma.us. Please include your full name and contact information (email, cell phone number).

Entrants are encouraged to post their videos on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok during the first week of May with the hashtag #LynnfieldMA.
