Not one, not two, but three Super Bowls

Rain aside, it was a super day of football at Gillette Stadium Saturday.

No. 7 St. John’s Prep outlasted No. 4 Springfield Central 13-0 in the Division 1 championship to win its sixth title. Jonnel Aguero of Lynn caught the first touchdown of the day from quarterback Aiden Driscoll and the Golden Eagles never looked back.

In the Division 6 title game, No. 3 St. Mary’s routed top-seeded Stoneham 29-8. David Brown had a monster day on the ground with 195 yards rushing.

In just its sixth season of play, No. 7 KIPP made it to the big game, facing No. 1 Hull in Division 8. Despite Juan Setalsingh throwing for 222 yards, and receivers Vic Mafo and Morenel Castro doing their part on the big stage, the Pirate run-game was too much for the Panthers to overcome, falling 27-6.
