Team of The Week: Lynnfield Football Team

You know what I’ve been thinking? The Lynnfield football team is coming into Manning Field with a mission on Friday. What is that mission, you might ask? To me, it’s to catch eyes. Last season, the Pioneers were 4-6 and lost six of their last eight games. Fast forward to today. Lynnfield is 6-3 with its most impressive victory coming against a previously-undefeated Amesbury team. The Pioneers are also this week’s Item Team of the Week for what they did to Bellingham – a 38-7 thrashing against an above .500 Blackhawks team. In the win, sophomore quarterback Tyler Amado threw for 193 yards and three touchdowns – two of them to junior Joey Cucciniello. The Pioneers recorded seven tackles for losses, five sacks, an interception, and allowed just 69 rushing yards – in other woods: a defensive nightmare for the sleeping Blackhawks. Lynnfield faces one of its biggest tests on Friday in an 8-1 St. Mary’s team. Lynnfield football, good week.
