FREEPORT, Maine – Barton Brass, owner of the Peabody-based Turkish Towel Company, was given the 2009 Allied Member of the Year Award by the Maine Innkeepers Association (MEIA).
The award is presented to an allied member of MEIA that is active in the hospitality industry and has made a significant contribution to it on behalf of the supplier community.
Brass has supported MEIA with both time and sponsorship of the association’s Education Foundation scholarships for several years. He also provides Turkish golf towels for the MEIA annual Hospitality Golf Classic.
Brass began his career working for his family’s business in the towel industry before starting his own company. He has worked with a Turkish towel manufacturer to produce high-end organic towels for the hospitality industry for the past 10 years.
The Turkish Towel Company is located on Railroad Avenue in Peabody.
