Globe names Brightview one of top places to work in ‘09

BOSTON – Brightview Senior Living has been named one of the “Top Places to Work” in the state by the Boston Globe.

“Top Places to Work” recognizes the most progressive companies based on employee opinions about company leadership, compensation and training, diversity, inclusion, career development, family-friendly flexibility, values and ethics. Private companies, nonprofits and publicly held businesses were included in the analysis.

The rankings are based on survey information collected from 86,000 employees by Workplace Dynamics, an independent company specializing in employee engagement and retention, and are composite scores calculated purely from employee responses.
Brightview Senior Living was ranked 24th among midsize companies and 64th on the overall list.

“I congratulate our Massachusetts communities, New Pond Village, Brightview Danvers and Brightview Country Club Heights, and their leadership teams. To be recognized by the Globe 100’s ‘Top Places to Work’ is a significant validation of all their hard work,” says Brightview Senior Living Executive Vice President Paul MacMillan.

To qualify for consideration on the list, a company must have more than 100 employees in the state. The "Globe 100’s Top Places to Work ’09" magazine was published in the Sunday Globe on Nov. 8. The report can also be found at www.boston.com/topworkplaces.

Since 1977, Brightview Senior Living has expanded to 17 communities, including rental units, assisted living and continuing care retirement communities. Brightview is a division of The Shelter Group, a privately held company that develops, manages, and owns residential real estate, specializing in multi-family and senior living communities.
